York, PA – May 3, 2023 – It’s time for the robots to rumble as Liberty Bots, an electrifying STEAM High School Program, brings the Robo-lution to York Country Day School on Saturday, May 6. Sponsored in part by the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), this annual, adrenaline-pumping event will have regional high schools battling it out with their ingeniously designed, engineered, and manufactured battle bots, inspired by the hit Discovery Channel show, BattleBots.
With an estimated 4 million manufacturing jobs needed over the next decade and 2.1 million projected to go unfilled, it’s crucial to spark interest in modern manufacturing careers. The Liberty Bots program, a chapter of NTMA’s National Robotics League, opens the door to the fascinating world of manufacturing by incorporating real-life applications. Local manufacturers partner with schools to give students a taste of today’s high-tech, clean manufacturing environments, which contributed to $1.4 trillion in US manufactured goods exported in 2021.
On May 6, robot enthusiasts and spectators can watch eight regional high school teams descend upon York Country Day School, located at 1000 Indian Rock Dam Rd, York, PA 17403, armed with their 15lb custom class weight battle bots. The Robo-lution kicks off at 10:30 AM, and the best part? Admission is absolutely free!
Witness the remarkable commitment and creativity on display from these talented teams. As Jeff W., a student from a previous Liberty Bots Robo-lution, said,
“It is outside the scope of anything that any of us have learned before, and help from both our teachers and local manufacturing companies takes it to the next level.”
So, mark your calendars, bring your friends and family, and be prepared for a day of non-stop robotic action at the Liberty Bots Robo-lution!
